Concert in Arrecife with:

TLPC Projeto Brasileiro
Bárbara Calypso

Free entrance but booking required: here

The ‘Projeto Brasilero’ was born from the love, respect and passion of Tomás LP Cruz for the culture and music of Brazil. Thus, in 2011, after almost 2 years of work, a CD of 11 songs was released (accompanied by a documentary) with the participation of more than 40 artists, with the presence of established figures such as Milton Nascimento, Joyce, Danilo Caymmi and Roberto Menescal, among others.

Now, in the last part of 2018, its creator and ideologist is taking up the ambitious challenge of bringing this project to the stage for the first time. To do so, Tomás LP Cruz has surrounded himself with a series of Canarian artists of a high musical level, who have a special sensitivity for Brazilian music.

From the quality and enthusiasm with which the idea was projected and conceived, now comes the care and dedication to take it live. Projeto Brasilero’ is one of the great Canarian musical productions of the last decade and the time has come to cross the digital veil to enjoy it on stage.

Bárbara Cristina Bernardeschi, better known as Bárbara Calypso, is a multifaceted artist whose skills range from painting and illustration to dance and music, expressing herself as a multi-instrumentalist and singer. She is recognised as one of the most interesting voices on the Canarian music scene, where she resided until mid 2023.

Born in 1989 in São Paulo, Brazil, Calypso moved to Tuscany, Italy, during her adolescence. Her passion for art manifested itself early, in particular painting. She honed her skills by attending the Russoli Art School in Pisa and the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara.

It was in Catalonia that Calypso began to explore new art forms, such as live painting and tattooing, and developed a deep love for music and the electric guitar. Determined to experience new opportunities, Calypso moved to Tenerife, Canary Islands, to immerse herself in the local culture.

Here she won important recognitions, such as the first prize in the Laguna Music Video Contest of the Promusic Association, and started collaborating with important musicians of the Canarian Jazz scene.
