June 5 @ 18:00

“Taro” is a family show where oral narration and the vernacular music of Lanzarote are fused to tell a story: the story of Taro. A boy who was born and raised among the volcanoes of his beloved island of Lanzarote.

The narrator Isabel Cabrera, the singer Acoraida Cabrera and the musician Alejandro Cabrera review the history of Lanzarote through the senses: image, voice and music will be the protagonists of this journey into the interior of the Island of the Volcanoes, which is intended as a tribute to our most illustrious artist, César Manrique, but also aims to look back and delve into the traditions and idiosyncrasies of the island.

This theatrical show is based on the story of the same name written by Isabel Cabrera herself and illustrated by Nareme Melián, with the design of the visual artist Carmen Corujo, and which was subsidised by the Cabildo of Lanzarote, and whose official presentation will take place after this staging. At the end of the show, spectators will also receive a copy of this book-album for the whole family.
