Lanzarote Opera Festival and Academy

An intensive summer opera academy led by internationally renowned teachers, culminates in a series of six festival concerts with the Lanzarote Ensemble Orchestra and piano.
Singers and pianists from Australia, China, USA, Canada, Germany, UK, France, Bulgaria and Costa Rica will perform famous arias and scenes from operas by Mozart, Puccini, Verdi, Donizetti, Catalani, Richard Strauss, Johann Strauss, Dvořák, Händel, Rossini, Ravel, Bizet and Saint-Saëns, as well as songs in Spanish, Italian, German, French and English.
In addition, faculty members will join together to perform chamber music, four-hand piano music, classical song repertoire, musical theatre and cabaret in two of the six festival concerts.
The Festival, led by Executive Director Anastasia Inniss and Artistic Director Ayoze Nicolás Rodríguez Martín, is a new educational project that has never before been created in the Canary Islands.
It brings together young singers and pianists from around the world to study opera and classical song amidst the inspiring beauty of Lanzarote.
Made possible by the generous sponsorship of the Lanzarote Centre for Art, Culture and Tourism, the Lanzarote Festival and Academy hopes to establish a tradition of bringing classical music, talent and opera education of the highest quality to the island.

FRIDAY, 7 JUNE
Attend the performance of students and faculty with a repertoire that includes opera arias by Mozart, Johann Strauss, Ravel, Händel, Dvořák, Verdi, Puccini, Saint-Saëns and Catalani.
After the concert, continue to delight your senses and purchase a cocktail to enjoy in a unique setting: the night in Jameos del Agua.

SATURDAY, 8TH JUNE
On this occasion, the students will offer a piano and voice concert performing the following repertoire: Art songs, opera arias and musical theatre by Fauré, Wolf, Debussy, Schumann, Obradors, Mendelssohn, Granados, Charpentier, Pergolesi, Bellini, Schubert, Handel and Bernstein.

SUNDAY, 9 JUNE
To close the festival, the students will give a piano and voice concert, performing the following repertoire: art songs and musical theatre by Liszt, Wagner, Schubert, Amy Beach, Hahn and Sondheim.
