IV Festival Ópera Lanzarote: Gala de Zarzuela

The festival opens with an evening dedicated to Zarzuela, the emblem of Spanish lyrical genre in Tías.

Avibrant journey through such recognisable titles as the lyrical sainete La revoltosa (Ruperto Chapí), El dúo de La africana (Manuel Fernández Caballero), El barberillo de Lavapiés (Francisco Asenjo Barbieri) and Luisa Fernanda (Federico Moreno Torroba): melodies and theatrical character for the enjoyment of the entire audience.

Cast
• Carmen Mateo, soprano — one of the most promising voices on the Spanish scene; young talent programme at the Teatro Real in Madrid; debuts at the Tenerife Auditorium and Teatro Comunale di Bologna.
• Andrea Niño, mezzo-soprano — performances at the Palau de les Arts (Valencia), Theater Bonn (Germany) and Teatro alla Scala (Milan); recent appearance at the Rossini Opera Festival (Pesaro).
• Manuel Más, baritone — one of the most sought-after opera singers at festivals and seasons in Spain; Teatro Real and Teatro de la Zarzuela (Madrid), Teatro Gian Carlo Menotti (Perugia) and Opéra de Massy (France).
• Ernesto Alemán, piano — performer from Lanzarote.
