Fiestas San Roque2024 – Tinajo

Annual Festivities from the 9th to the  17th of August.

Programme:

FRIDAY 9TH AUGUST
– 20:30 h. Reading of the “Pregón” (Proclamation) by Doña María Pilar Poza Mendoza, pharmacist of Tinajo (Plaza de San Roque).
Followed by a musical evening by the tenor Rubén Fariñas.

SATURDAY 10TH AUGUST
– 16:00 h. Traditional Pilgrimage of the Harvest with departure from Los Volcanes Avenue n.º 11 to the Plaza de San Roque.
Start of the “Fiesta de la Vendimia 2024” with a traditional folklore performance.
‘Soy Colombia’, representing Colombia, as guest country.
Afterwards, ‘Pisado Tradicional’ of the grapes of Tinajo by categories:
Boys and girls. Women. Men (white dress).
– 20:00 to 4:00 h. “Verbena de la Vendimia” with musical performances by the best parrandas and musical groups. “Ventorrillos” with our gastronomy and wines. Boucy casltes for the little ones.
– 19:30 h. Eucharist.
– 20:30 h. VIII Veteran Football Tournament, ‘Alexis Morales Rodríguez’ (Municipal Los Volcanes). CD Tinajo – UD Lanzarote – Veterans Selection

SUNDAY 11TH AUGUST
– 20:00 h. Musical of Stars ‘Play Back Infantil’, accompanied by the show ‘Magia y Fantasía’ by the magician José Ángel.

MONDAY 12TH AUGUST
– 17:00 to 19:00 h. Afternoon of games for children and young people (Plaza de San Roque).
– 19:30 h. Wine and tapas pairing 100% Tinajo. Registration by Whatsapp. Limited places.

TUESDAY 13TH AUGUST
– 16:30 h. Walk for the elderly from the Municipal Football Field to the Plaza de San Roque.
– 17:00 to 19:00 h. Afternoon of games for children and young people (Plaza de San Roque).
– 19:30 h. Dessert and Liquor Competition in the Plaza de San Roque, from 18:00 to 19:30 hours collection of products from the participants (see the rules on the website of the Town Hall of Tinajo).
Liquor Prizes: 1st and 2nd prize (basket of local products).
Dessert Prizes: 1st prize for tasting and 1st prize for presentation (basket of local products).

WEDNESDAY 14TH AUGUST
– 20:30h. THEATRAL performance of our neighbours with the play ‘Pa’lo que le queda al convento’ by Rubén Fariña (Tinajo Municipal Theatre).
– 23:00 h. Verbena with the orchestras Mambo Latino and Nueva Stella.

THURSDAY 15TH AUGUST
SOLEMNITY OF THE ASSUMPTION OF THE VIRGIN MARY
– 12:00 h. Eucharist in Los Dolores.
– 19:00 h. Recitation of the Holy Rosary.
– 19:30 h. Eucharist.
– 20:00 h. Presentation of the restoration of the harmonium by the restorer Don Alejandro Rodríguez Rubio, with the participation of the tenor Orlando Niz.
– 22:00 to 02:00 h. ‘Tinajo Pop’, entertained by the groups: ‘Inerxia’ and ‘Solydo’ (Plaza de San Roque).

FRIDAY 16TH AUGUST
SAINT ROQUE’S DAY
– 19:00 h. Solemn Eucharist presided by the Parish Priest Don Juan Antonio Artiles Suárez, next parish priest of Our Lady of the Rosary in Fuerteventura.
Afterwards, procession accompanied by the Municipal Band of Tinajo and folkloric offering with the A.M.C. Timbayba.
– 21:00 h. Comedy show with Aarón Gómez (Social Hall).
– 22:30 to 02:00 h. Popular Verbena by the groups Vocal Force and Lanzarote Swing.

SATURDAY 17TH AUGUST
– 18:00 h. San Roque Tournament, Tizziri Tinajo Basketball Club (Municipal Pavilion).
– 21:00 h. XXIII Festival A.M.C. Timbayba, with the guest group from Palma de Mallorca ‘Aires de la Cala’ Pollenca. Organised by: A.M.C. Timbayba (Tinajo Social Hall).
