El Viento en el Cine: Una Larga Historia

“The wind in the Cinem: a long Story” – a conference in English by Benjamin Thomas, cinema teacher at the University of Strasbourg.
Throughout the history of cinema, wind has been blowing. From “Le Repas de Bébé” (Lumière, 1896) until now, an incredible amount of films have welcomed wind and its numerous movements into their images. As we will see, this is more than just by chance or accident. Wind is a (creative and poetic) force that can enrich cinematic images but, more deeply, wind also tells us something of the very nature of cinematic image itself.
