Classical Concerts Cycle: “Musica y Poesía”

9th edition of the Classical Concerts Cycle in Arrecife.
This year it will be dedicated to poetry and will take place at the Agustín de la Hoz Cultural Centre in Arrecife on 20th and 27th March and 3rd and 10th April. This year, like previous years, we have a group of extraordinary musicians.
“Musica y Poesía” will also feature a reading of poems by poets from Lanzarote.
Soon there will be details of the programme and information about this cycle, as well as the opening of ticket sales.
Programme:
Concert no. 2 on the 27th of March
By the violinist and orchestra conductor, Alexandre Da Costa, accompanied by the pianist and researcher Josu Okiñena.
We could speak above the musicians, as the Canadian Alexandre Da Costa is one of the most prominent violinists in the music scene, having recorded 28 albums for Sony. With countless awards to his credit, he is currently the conductor of the Quebec Philharmonic Orchestra. Josu Okiñena is a professor at Musikene and in recent years has done commendable work with the rescue of works by Basque composers and has published recordings and books. All this is combined with his performances all over the world and the realization of several music cycles. You have all the information on the web.
The repertoire chosen allows to glimpse works of own complexity for the virtuosos in which they emphasize the Chaconne of Vitali, the Serenade Melancolique of Tchaikovsky or the Sonatensatz of Brahams. But in between and at the end it includes works by current composers such as Leonard Cohen.
It will feature poems by Fabio Carreiro and Tere Perera Brito.
Concert no. 3 on the 3rd April
OCL’s String Quintet and the poets Mercedes Minguela and Fabio Carreiro.
