Ten-sión 4 in Arrecife de Mar y Música: contemporary percussion in Lanzarote
The new concert series ‘Arrecife de Mar y Música’ continues to boost the cultural life of the island with the participation of Ten-sión 4, a percussion quartet that explores the infinite possibilities of contemporary sound. This group, made up of musicians of renowned experience, proposes a sonorous journey that brings together different aesthetics, from the minimalism of Steve Reich to the experimental explorations of John Cage, passing through the rhythmic lyricism of N.J. Zivkovic and creations by the prolific Canarian composer Nino Díaz.
The repertoire is articulated around works that challenge the listener and celebrate percussion as the protagonist. Pieces such as Pieces of Wood or But What About the Noise and Fade Out #12, contribute to an intense and suggestive stage experience.
Ten-sión 4 is formed by Paco Díaz, timpani soloist with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife and director of the Festival de Música Contemporánea de Tenerife; Emilio Díaz, trained in Amsterdam and member of the Sinfónica de Tenerife; Charli Llácer, who has been part of groups such as Neopercusión and collaborates with national and international orchestras, as well as being part of the Sinfónica tinerfeña; and Juan Miñana, active both in the symphonic performance of the aforementioned orchestra and in experimental music with the group Six Ensemble.
