El Almacén’s Cine Buñuel presents one of the most interesting films of 2023, the multi-award winning ‘Anatomy of a Fall’. It is an elaborate French judicial thriller directed by Justine Triet. The work dissects in a quite astonishing way a marital relationship through the trial of the wife after a fatal fall of the husband. An emotional jigsaw puzzle plotted with enormous originality that gets better the more you think about it. The film has been awarded the Oscar for Best Screenplay and nominated in several categories such as Best Director, Best Picture and Best Leading Actress.

Synopsis: Sandra, a German writer, lives with her husband Samuel and their blind son Daniel in a chalet in the middle of the French Alps. When Samuel dies in mysterious circumstances, the investigation is unable to determine whether it was suicide or murder. Sandra is arrested and tried for murder, and the trial puts her tumultuous relationship and ambiguous personality in the spotlight.
